One of the reasons I love working at BA is that I get to take advantage of both my left-brained and right-brained skills.
On the geeky side, I enjoy developing templates, marketing plans, and project management systems to help the team work smarter and more efficiently. Typesetting, copy writing and editing, and print management also fall into this category of work. On the artsy side, I enjoy developing color palettes, selecting typefaces, and the challenging work of creating the small graphic design details that help make a brand distinctive. For each project, I think, “Does this look like Client A and no one else or could it be mistaken for a different CU?”
From the highest level—who are we? and what should our name be?—down to the smallest detail—“there’s an apostrophe missing” or “make this drop shadow 10% darker so the type pops a little more,” I love being involved in every aspect of a client’s brand. In the end, it’s the small details that make the designs unique and allow the brand to remain consistent yet evolve over time.
Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two sons (ages 11 and 15), remodeling our house, and chairing the zoning and land use committee for Saint Paul's District 12/Summit Hill Association.
